In Praise of Common Yellow Mustard

Part of the Broke-Ass Paleo regime involves creating solutions to healthy eating that are convenient to implement as part of the typical North-American lifestyle and the foods that occur commonly in your vicinity in daily life. It a way, what we're talking here is "culture hacks," ways to live more healthily while still being embedded in the montage of American life. One of the most dis-illusioning (in a positive sense) experiences I had while eating healthy was trying to avoid all added non-natural sugars. This involved obsessive scanning of ingredient labels in supermarkets, at potlucks, in my parents' refrigerator. It was easy enough to purge my own fridge but one of the less talked about realities of American life is that pretty much any consumer product we have access to has gobs of sugar added to it.
